Verse (32:12), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (32:12) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is sīn mīm ʿayn (س م ع). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (32:12)

The analysis above refers to the twelfth verse of chapter 32 (sūrat l-sajdah):

Sahih International: If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], "Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain."
