Verse (2:36), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

The fourth word of verse (2:36) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction fa is usually translated as "and". The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is khā rā jīm (خ ر ج). The attached object pronoun is third person dual.

Sahih International: But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time."
