Verse (2:150), Word 12 - Quranic Grammar

The twelfth word of verse (2:150) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A result particle, verb and subject pronoun. The result particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate the result of a condition. The form II imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is wāw lām yā (و ل ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: And from wherever you go out [for prayer], turn your face toward al-Masjid al-haram. And wherever you [believers] may be, turn your faces toward it in order that the people will not have any argument against you, except for those of them who commit wrong; so fear them not but fear Me. And [it is] so I may complete My favor upon you and that you may be guided.
