Verse (29:8), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (29:8) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form II perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is wāw ṣād yā (و ص ي). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

And We have enjoined

Sahih International: And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
