Verse (28:5), Word 9 - Quranic Grammar

The ninth word of verse (28:5) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is first person plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is jīm ʿayn lām (ج ع ل).
