Verse (28:12), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (28:12) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form II perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is ḥā rā mīm (ح ر م). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: And We had prevented from him [all] wet nurses before, so she said, "Shall I direct you to a household that will be responsible for him for you while they are to him [for his upbringing] sincere?"
