Verse (28:10), Word 15 - Quranic Grammar

The fifteenth word of verse (28:10) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A particle of purpose and verb. The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person feminine singular and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (تكون) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).

Sahih International: And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers.
