Verse (28:10), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (28:10) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and verb. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is ṣād bā ḥā (ص ب ح). The verb (اصبح) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).

Sahih International: And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers.
