Verse (27:37), Word 3 - Quranic Grammar

The third word of verse (27:37) is divided into 5 morphological segments. A resumption particle, emphatic prefix, verb, emphatic suffix and object pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is first person plural and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is hamza tā yā (أ ت ي). The suffixed emphatic particle is known as the nūn of emphasis (نون التوكيد). The attached object pronoun is third person masculine plural.

Verse (27:37)

Sahih International: Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."
