Verse (24:55), Word 8 - Quranic Grammar

The eighth word of verse (24:55) is divided into 4 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb, emphatic suffix and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form X imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is khā lām fā (خ ل ف). The suffixed emphatic particle is known as the nūn of emphasis (نون التوكيد). The attached object pronoun is third person masculine plural.

Verse (24:55)

Sahih International: Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them [therein] their religion which He has preferred for them and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security, [for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me. But whoever disbelieves after that - then those are the defiantly disobedient.
