Verse (24:47), Word 5 - Quranic Grammar

The fifth word of verse (24:47) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is ṭā wāw ʿayn (ط و ع). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: But the hypocrites say, "We have believed in Allah and in the Messenger, and we obey"; then a party of them turns away after that. And those are not believers.
