Verse (23:44), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (23:44) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is tā bā ʿayn (ت ب ع). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe.
