Verse (22:2), Word 2 - Quranic Grammar

The second word of verse (22:2) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is rā hamza yā (ر أ ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person feminine singular.

Verse (22:2)

Sahih International: On the Day you see it every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing, and every pregnant woman will abort her pregnancy, and you will see the people [appearing] intoxicated while they are not intoxicated; but the punishment of Allah is severe.
