Verse (21:22), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (21:22) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person feminine dual. The verb's triliteral root is fā sīn dāl (ف س د). The suffix (الألف) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides Allah , they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allah , Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.
