Verse (18:52), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (18:52) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is dāl ʿayn wāw (د ع و). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person masculine plural.

Verse (18:52)

Sahih International: And [warn of] the Day when He will say, "Call 'My partners' whom you claimed," and they will invoke them, but they will not respond to them. And We will put between them [a valley of] destruction.
