Verse (18:52), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (18:52) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is jīm ʿayn lām (ج ع ل). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (18:52)

The analysis above refers to the 52nd verse of chapter 18 (sūrat l-kahf):

Sahih International: And [warn of] the Day when He will say, "Call 'My partners' whom you claimed," and they will invoke them, but they will not respond to them. And We will put between them [a valley of] destruction.
