Verse (18:4), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar


The first word of verse (18:4) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and verb. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form IV imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is nūn dhāl rā (ن ذ ر).
