Verse (17:73), Word 12 - Quranic Grammar

The twelfth word of verse (17:73) is divided into 4 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form VIII perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is hamza khā dhāl (أ خ ذ). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is second person masculine singular.
