Verse (16:92), Word 25 - Quranic Grammar

The 25th word of verse (16:92) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, emphatic prefix, verb and emphatic suffix. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form II imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is bā yā nūn (ب ي ن). The suffixed emphatic particle is known as the nūn of emphasis (نون التوكيد).

Verse (16:92)

The analysis above refers to the 92nd verse of chapter 16 (sūrat l-naḥl):

Sahih International: And do not be like she who untwisted her spun thread after it was strong [by] taking your oaths as [means of] deceit between you because one community is more plentiful [in number or wealth] than another community. Allah only tries you thereby. And He will surely make clear to you on the Day of Resurrection that over which you used to differ.
