Verse (16:8), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

The fourth word of verse (16:8) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A particle of purpose, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is rā kāf bā (ر ك ب). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is third person feminine singular.
