Verse (16:30), Word 18 - Quranic Grammar

The eighteenth word of verse (16:30) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, emphatic prefix and verb. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is nūn ʿayn mīm (ن ع م).
