Verse (16:28), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar

The sixth word of verse (16:28) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A result particle, verb and subject pronoun. The result particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate the result of a condition. The form IV perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is lām qāf yā (ل ق ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (16:28)

The analysis above refers to the 28th verse of chapter 16 (sūrat l-naḥl):

Sahih International: The ones whom the angels take in death [while] wronging themselves, and [who] then offer submission, [saying], "We were not doing any evil." But, yes! Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what you used to do.
