Verse (16:14), Word 9 - Quranic Grammar

The ninth word of verse (16:14) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The form X imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is khā rā jīm (خ ر ج). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (16:14)

Sahih International: And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.
