Verse (15:76), Word 2 - Quranic Grammar

__

The second word of verse (15:76) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, preposition and noun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The prefixed preposition bi is usually translated as "with" or "by". The indefinite noun is masculine and is in the genitive case (مجرور). The noun's triliteral root is sīn bā lām (س ب ل). Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
