Verse (14:10), Word 31 - Quranic Grammar

The 31st word of verse (14:10) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is hamza tā yā (أ ت ي). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is first person plural.

Sahih International: Their messengers said, "Can there be doubt about Allah , Creator of the heavens and earth? He invites you that He may forgive you of your sins, and He delays your death for a specified term." They said, "You are not but men like us who wish to avert us from what our fathers were worshipping. So bring us a clear authority."
