Verse (12:21), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (12:21) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A conjunction and verb. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is qāf wāw lām (ق و ل).

Verse (12:21)

The analysis above refers to the 21st verse of chapter 12 (sūrat yūsuf):

Sahih International: And the one from Egypt who bought him said to his wife, "Make his residence comfortable. Perhaps he will benefit us, or we will adopt him as a son." And thus, We established Joseph in the land that We might teach him the interpretation of events. And Allah is predominant over His affair, but most of the people do not know.
