Verse (11:7), Word 17 - Quranic Grammar

The seventeenth word of verse (11:7) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, emphatic prefix and conditional particle. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis.

Verse (11:7)

The analysis above refers to the seventh verse of chapter 11 (sūrat hūd):

Sahih International: And it is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days - and His Throne had been upon water - that He might test you as to which of you is best in deed. But if you say, "Indeed, you are resurrected after death," those who disbelieve will surely say, "This is not but obvious magic."
