Verse (11:109), Word 17 - Quranic Grammar

The seventeenth word of verse (11:109) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, active participle and possessive pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The form II active participle is masculine plural and is in the nominative case (مرفوع). The active participle's triliteral root is wāw fā yā (و ف ي). The attached possessive pronoun is third person masculine plural.

Verse (11:109)

Sahih International: So do not be in doubt, [O Muhammad], as to what these [polytheists] are worshipping. They worship not except as their fathers worshipped before. And indeed, We will give them their share undiminished.
