The triliteral root wāw jīm fā (و ج ف) occurs twice in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • once as the form IV verb awjaf (أَوْجَفْ)
  • once as the active participle wājifat (وَاجِفَة)

Verb (form IV) - to make expedition

(59:6:8) awjaftumyou made expedition وَمَا أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِ مِنْهُمْ فَمَا أَوْجَفْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَيْلٍ وَلَا رِكَابٍ

Active participle

(79:8:3) wājifatunwill palpitate قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
