The triliteral root fā rā dāl (ف ر د) occurs five times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • twice as the noun furādā (فُرَٰدَىٰ)
  • three times as the noun fard (فَرْد)

(6:94:3) furādāalone وَلَقَدْ جِئْتُمُونَا فُرَادَىٰ كَمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ
(34:46:9) wafurādāand (as) individuals قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَعِظُكُمْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ أَنْ تَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ مَثْنَىٰ وَفُرَادَىٰ
