Quran Dictionary - ب ت ل

The triliteral root bā tā lām (ب ت ل) occurs twice in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • once as the form V verb tabattal (تَبَتَّلْ)
  • once as the form II verbal noun tabtīl (تَبْتِيل)

(73:8:4) watabattaland devote yourself وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا

Verbal noun (form II)

(73:8:6) tabtīlan(with) devotion وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا
