The triliteral root ḥā jīm zāy (ح ج ز) occurs twice in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • once as the noun ḥājiz (حَاجِز)
  • once as the active participle ḥājizīn (حَٰجِزِين)

(27:61:14) ḥājizana barrier وَجَعَلَ خِلَالَهَا أَنْهَارًا وَجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزًا
