The triliteral root hamza dāl yā (أ د ي) occurs six times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • five times as the form II verb yu-addi (يُؤَدِّ)
  • once as the verbal noun adā (أَدَآء)

Verb (form II) - to discharge, to deliver

(2:283:14) falyu-addithen let discharge فَإِنْ أَمِنَ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا فَلْيُؤَدِّ الَّذِي اؤْتُمِنَ أَمَانَتَهُ
(3:75:8) yu-addihihe will return it وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مَنْ إِنْ تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنْطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ
(3:75:16) yu-addihihe will return it وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ إِنْ تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَا يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ
(4:58:5) tu-addūrender إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الْأَمَانَاتِ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهَا
(44:18:2) addūDeliver أَنْ أَدُّوا إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
