The triliteral root shīn fā yā (ش ف ي) occurs six times in the Quran, in two derived forms:

  • twice as the form I verb yashfi (يَشْفِ)
  • four times as the noun shifā (شِفَآء)

Verb (form I) - to heal, to cure

(9:14:8) wayashfiand will heal وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنْصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ
(26:80:4) yashfīnicures me وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
