المصدر المؤول من «أنَّ» وما بعدها فاعل بثبت مقدرا، وجوابها محذوف أي: لأثيبوا، ولا تقع الجملة الاسمية جوابا لـ«لو». «لمثوبة» اللام للابتداء، و«مثوبة» مبتدأ، خبره: «خير»، والجملة مستأنفة. وجواب «لو» الثانية محذوف أي: لكان خيرا. وجملة «لو كانوا» مستأنفة.
