Verse (9:95), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (9:95) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A particle of purpose, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. The form IV imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is second person masculine plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is ʿayn rā ḍād (ع ر ض). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: They will swear by Allah to you when you return to them that you would leave them alone. So leave them alone; indeed they are evil; and their refuge is Hell as recompense for what they had been earning.
