Verse (9:5), Word 11 - Quranic Grammar

The eleventh word of verse (9:5) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is qāf ʿayn dāl (ق ع د). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
