Verse (9:56), Word 4 - Quranic Grammar

The fourth word of verse (9:56) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, preposition and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The attached object pronoun is second person masculine plural. Together the segments form a preposition phrase known as jār wa majrūr (جار ومجرور).
