Verse (9:2), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (9:2) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle fa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is sīn yā ḥā (س ي ح). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun.

Sahih International: So travel freely, [O disbelievers], throughout the land [during] four months but know that you cannot cause failure to Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers.
