Verse (92:17), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (92:17) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, future particle, verb and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed future particle sa is used in combination with the imperfect (present tense) verb to form the future tense. The passive form II imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is jīm nūn bā (ج ن ب).
