Verse (8:51), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (8:51) is a perfect verb (فعل ماض). The verb is third person masculine singular. The verb's triliteral root is lām yā sīn (ل ي س). The verb (ليس) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها).
