Verse (8:30), Word 6 - Quranic Grammar

The sixth word of verse (8:30) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A particle of purpose, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed particle lām is used to indicate the purpose of an action and makes the following verb subjunctive. The form IV imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine plural and is in the subjunctive mood (منصوب). The verb's triliteral root is thā bā tā (ث ب ت). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. The attached object pronoun is second person masculine singular.

Sahih International: And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.
