The first word of verse (86:5) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, imperative particle and verb. The prefixed conjunction fa is usually translated as "and". The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "let" and is used to form an imperative construction. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the jussive mood (مجزوم). The verb's triliteral root is nūn ẓā rā (ن ظ ر).
