Verse (7:95), Word 14 - Quranic Grammar

The fourteenth word of verse (7:95) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction fa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is hamza khā dhāl (أ خ ذ). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun. Sahih International: Then We exchanged in place of the bad [condition], good, until they increased [and prospered] and said, "Our fathers [also] were touched with hardship and ease." So We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive.
