Verse (7:56), Word 7 - Quranic Grammar

The seventh word of verse (7:56) is divided into 4 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb, subject pronoun and object pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The imperative verb (فعل أمر) is second person masculine plural. The verb's triliteral root is dāl ʿayn wāw (د ع و). The suffix (الواو) is an attached subject pronoun. Sahih International: And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.
