Verse (7:43), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (7:43) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is nūn zāy ʿayn (ن ز ع). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (7:43)

The analysis above refers to the 43rd verse of chapter 7 (sūrat l-aʿrāf):

Sahih International: And We will have removed whatever is within their breasts of resentment, [while] flowing beneath them are rivers. And they will say, "Praise to Allah , who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us. Certainly the messengers of our Lord had come with the truth." And they will be called, "This is Paradise, which you have been made to inherit for what you used to do."
