The tenth word of verse (7:23) is divided into 3 morphological segments. An emphatic prefix, verb and emphatic suffix. The prefixed particle lām is usually translated as "surely" or "indeed" and is used to add emphasis. The imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is first person plural and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is kāf wāw nūn (ك و ن). The verb (نكون) belongs to a special group of words known as kāna and her sisters (كان واخواتها). The suffixed emphatic particle is known as the nūn of emphasis (نون التوكيد).
The analysis above refers to the 23rd
verse of chapter 7 (sūrat
Sahih International: They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."

The mood of the verb is not mentioned.
