Verse (7:22), Word 9 - Quranic Grammar

The ninth word of verse (7:22) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A conjunction, verb and subject pronoun. The prefixed conjunction wa is usually translated as "and". The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is third person masculine dual. The verb's triliteral root is ṭā fā qāf (ط ف ق). The suffix (الألف) is an attached subject pronoun.

Verse (7:22)

The analysis above refers to the 22nd verse of chapter 7 (sūrat l-aʿrāf):

Sahih International: So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"
