Verse (7:169), Word 12 - Quranic Grammar

The twelfth word of verse (7:169) is divided into 2 morphological segments. A future particle and verb. The prefixed future particle sa is used in combination with the imperfect (present tense) verb to form the future tense. The passive imperfect verb (فعل مضارع) is third person masculine singular and is in the indicative mood (مرفوع). The verb's triliteral root is ghayn fā rā (غ ف ر).

Verse (7:169)

The analysis above refers to the 169th verse of chapter 7 (sūrat l-aʿrāf):

Sahih International: And there followed them successors who inherited the Scripture [while] taking the commodities of this lower life and saying, "It will be forgiven for us." And if an offer like it comes to them, they will [again] take it. Was not the covenant of the Scripture taken from them that they would not say about Allah except the truth, and they studied what was in it? And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear Allah , so will you not use reason?
