Verse (7:145), Word 1 - Quranic Grammar

The first word of verse (7:145) is divided into 3 morphological segments. A resumption particle, verb and subject pronoun. The connective particle wa is usually translated as "then" or "so" and is used to indicate a sequence of events. The perfect verb (فعل ماض) is first person plural. The verb's triliteral root is kāf tā bā (ك ت ب). The suffix (نا) is an attached subject pronoun.

And We ordained (laws)

Verse (7:145)

The analysis above refers to the 145th verse of chapter 7 (sūrat l-aʿrāf):

Sahih International: And We wrote for him on the tablets [something] of all things - instruction and explanation for all things, [saying], "Take them with determination and order your people to take the best of it. I will show you the home of the defiantly disobedient."
